Opal Coast 2 Nights
This tour is a wonderful chance to give your pupils an introduction to France and its culture.
With its close proximity to the UK, the Opal Coast is particularly popular with primary schools who want to travel overseas for a school trip.
This ready-made tour has been created to experience the perfect mix of the traditional and historic visits that northern France has to offer.
THE PERFECT FRENCH CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
This two nights ready-made itinerary is ideal for teachers who want to take their students on a residential trip for an introduction to France. An affordable and achievable way of experiencing an overseas trip, this tour is popular with both primary and secondary schools due to its location being just over an hour from the UK.
It gives students in just a few days, the best of what Northern France has to offer. As part of the program, we have included some of the most popular visits in the area which include, Nausicaa – the French National Sea Life centre, a visit to a traditional French market, an artisan sweet factory for a chance to see sweets being made by hand, a touch of Second World War history at La Coupole; and finally a visit to a bakery to discover the secret of baking delicious French bread and croissants.
“Excellent trip with very positive and enthusiastic feedback from the students. We were very impressed with the trip and would like to do the same next year.”
EASILY ACCESSIBLE FROM THE UK
Depart your school and travel by private coach, across the Channel ferry or Eurotunnel to France. Your first stop will be the fascinating underwater world of Nausicaa, the French National Sea-Life centre. From here you shall travel onwards to your accommodation, arriving early evening.
After breakfast, your group will start the day by visiting a typical French market. You will then move onto an artisan sweet factory to see (and taste!) regional specialties being made. Finally, your day will end seeing Hitler’s V2 rocket base – La Coupole.
Depart your accommodation after breakfast and you shall get a final taste of France at a traditional bakery where you can help make (and then eat) croissants – a favorite with all groups! Time for last-minute shopping in Calais before travelling back to school.
