This trip students will have the chance to visit either “The Theatre of Dreams”, Old Trafford, or the impressive Etihad Stadium.
They will also be able to explore the history of all things football at the National Football Museum and may even get a chance to have a kick around at a local sporting venue or free time to discover more of what Manchester has to offer.
Explore the History of Football
Manchester is one of the best locations within the UK for sporting venues. It is the location of two of the biggest football teams in the world – Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as being the home to British Cycling and Sport City (which was created for 2002 Commonwealth Games). It is also the host of the Great City Games and site of National Football Museum is now located.
The museum is spread over an impressive 6 floors. Students will be able to explore all things football as it was founded to preserve, conserve and interpret important collections of football memorabilia and is one of the largest dedicated football museums in the world.
You will also get a chance to visit either Manchester United or Manchester City to get a behind-the-scenes private tour of the stadium of choice, and participate in activities and workshops, provided by both clubs, that can be linked back to the sports curriculum in school.
There may even be a chance of a game of football against each other at a local football venue.

ITINERARY
- DAY *1*
Your group shall be picked up and driven to Manchester. Upon arrival, you will visit your choice of football club, either Manchester United or Manchester City where you will have a private guided tour of the stadium and take part in an educational activity or workshop.
During the afternoon, your group will have a chance to play a game of football against each other.Arrive at your local accommodation early evening.
- DAY *2*
After departing your accommodation, spend a few hours exploring the National Football Museum.
With 6 floors to discover, a private guide will tour you around the different floors and exhibitions and each person is given 4 credits to use to participate in fun activities located throughout the museum.Depart Manchester in the afternoon to travel back home.
