Opal Coast Day Trip
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT OFFER THIS TRIP BETWEEN MAY-AUGUST
This exciting day trip allows your students to experience France for a day.
Due to its close proximity, the Opal Coast is easily accessible and gives your students an opportunity to develop their French speaking skills, visit some interesting places, and taste some local delicacies.
Discover France in a Day!
A visit to the Opal Coast offers the perfect introduction to the culture and traditions of France. A 35-minute journey on the Eurotunnel, and you’re across the English Channel and ready to visit cities such as Calais, Boulogne-Sur-Mer, and Le Touquet.
The trip allows for plenty of opportunities for students to practice their language skills throughout the day. For example, why not let them buy their own lunch in a local French market? Or chat with local people while purchasing souvenirs?
They can discover how local foods are made – and indulge in a tasting session afterward. There are bakeries, sweet factories, and chocolate makers. For those with more traditional (ambitious?) tastes, delicacies such as snail farms and goat cheese factories might fit the bill.
In addition, there are plenty of other visits and attractions in the area, including La Coupole, a Second World War V2 rocket launching site, and Nausicaá, one of Europe’s largest aquariums.
Whichever you choose, this trip is a fantastic experience and taste of France!
And, if you’d rather take a longer trip, take a look at our Opal Coast page.

So much to experience in one day
